A Little More Drivel.

Date: 2013-10-22 16:08:26

Just a few additional thoughts for the day.

I've forgotten whether I mentioned this before but I'm still having a problem getting around these last PSA results.
I know it seems crazy, but this is the first time that this ongoing apprehension about what results mean practical sense has gone on this long.
I'm starting to think that the OCD may be a part of this. I do tend to obsess over  things and I'm thinking that maybe that's one of the problems here.
I'm just constantly find myself preoccupied about the other shoe is going to drop, so to speak.

This whole thing would be so much easier if I could just get a straight answer from anyone. Problem is, there simply aren't any conclusive answers to give. All us cancer survivors or cancer patients are in the same boat! We will never know for sure that we're cured until the day we die of something else!
At any rate, I still don't know if <0.1 to 0.1 in 3 months constitutes a rise.
Hell, I guess I'll just go have a cocktail.

Cheers!

Something New!

Date: 2013-10-22 12:29:59

Well, I finally have something new to talk about. I'm going to take up knitting! As a matter fact, both the wife and I are going to do it. It is the second time in my life that I've attempted to do this. The first time was when I was about 8 or 9 years old when a friend of mine taught me how to knit. I'm sixty now and I haven't used  the skills since then.
After a little practice, I plan on taking on a small project. I'm going to try to do a cute knit pullover hat for my granddaughter.
I'm doing this mainly because it's fun and because it's very good for the mild arthritis that sometimes plagues my hands.
The wife and I are going over to Joann Fabrics right after work and pick up the yarn.

More later, stay tuned.

Cheers!

More Followers! Yay!

Date: 2013-10-16 17:11:55

Hey, I'm starting to see that I may have more than two followers. That's amazing.
A big thanks from here to all of you out there who seem to enjoy reading all this drivel! Lol!
Your comments and suggestions are always welcome.

By the way, I have my blood sugar back down to 112 since last night's eating binge.  I think I said I made it all the way up to 186.
Amazing what a little pasta will do! Lol!
I actually did get through the day with a slightly less than 2000 calories. That's exactly what I should be doing.
Well, more later when I think of something to write.
Cheers!

First Official Diet Cheat!

Date: 2013-10-15 18:05:52

Well, today I finally crashed on my diet. I went  and ate a pound of pasta and sauce! (No, I'm not proud of myself.)
This craving  Has been building up for some time now and I finally just gave it to it.
Its been about 6 hours since I ate and I'm still feeling bloated and tired!
Truthfully though, it HAS been some time since I cheated with my food.

That little binge brought my blood sugar to about 186.
Note to self: Avoid this behavior in the future at all costs! ;)

I suspect the stress from the PSA nonsense is probably part of the food problem.

Cheers!

A Belated PSA Update

Date: 2013-10-15 16:46:02

Way back on the 8th, I said I would report back as to my latest PSA test.
It came back at 0.1 which is fine, as long as it stays down there.
Problem is, the previous one was <0.1.
I'm not sure that constitutes an official rise or not!
Dr K. was fine with it....apparently.
I admit to being a little concerned. Now I've gotta wait ANOTHER 3 months to see if it really is.

BTY: The weight is down to 274! :)

HbA1c is around 6 something.

Cheers

It's That Time Again

Date: 2013-10-08 12:14:10
.

Another 3 months has passed and it's that time again. Time for my 3 month  PSA evaluation. I just had my blood drawn yesterday and now I am sitting here on pins and needles waiting for the dreaded phone call, or lack thereof.
Actually, I really don't want to hear about it because in this particular case no news is good news! If they haven't called me by Wednesday evening, it's probably safe to say that I'm good for another 3 months. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
The next post will be with the result.
Cheers!
